    আপনি যদি এখনও পর্যন্ত নকল মোচড় অনুভব করে না থাকেন, তাহলে এখন তা অনুভব করার সম্ভাবনা খুব বেশি। আপনি কি জানেন শিশুটি আপনার সার্ভিক্সের দিকে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে? এটিকে এফেসমেন্ট বলা হয়। এর অর্থ হল প্রসবের প্রস্তুতির জন্য সার্ভিক্স আরও নরম, পাতলা ও ছোট হচ্ছে। বেশিরভাগ মহিলার জল ভাঙার 12 ঘণ্টার মধ্যে তাঁদের প্রসব যন্ত্রণা শুরু হয়। কিছু মহিলার ক্ষেত্রে প্রসব যন্ত্রণা খুব কম সময়ের জন্য হতে পারে এবং কিছু মহিলার ক্ষেত্রে যেন যন্ত্রণা শেষ হতেই চায় না। প্রসব যন্ত্রণা চলাকালীন সঠিক সময়ে আপনার ডাক্তার আপনাকে চাপ দিতে বলবেন। প্রতিবার মোচড়ের সময় আপনার সন্তানের মাথা যোনির মুখ দিয়ে সামান্য করে বেরিয়ে আসে। যদি আপনার সন্তানের মাথা ভিতরদিকে ঢুকে না যায়, তাহলে তাকে ক্রাউনিং বলে। তবে, আপনি যদি খুব বেশি অস্বস্তি অনুভব করতে থাকেন, যখন আপনি যে-কোনওভাবে শিশুটিকে বের করতে চান (এবং আপনার প্রসব যন্ত্রণা যদি শুরু না হয়), তাহলে প্রসব যন্ত্রণা শুরু করানোর বিভিন্ন পদ্ধতি আছে। ডাক্তাররা সাধারণত আরও কিছুদিন অপেক্ষা করেন।
