While in the intestines, it may add to the morning sickness. It can also cause bloating and stomach pain.
It might not be a great idea to sleep on the back either. While you are on your back, the intestines are getting pushed downwards. As you also have a foetus inside you, this further increases the intra-abdominal pressure.
The ideal position would be such that it reduces the blood flow in the abdomen while supporting the stomach, back, and hips.
The most ideal sleeping position would be sleeping on your left side. This reduces the blood flow in your abdomen, as well as puts less strain on your heart. It helps to take pressure off your kidneys and liver at the same time, which helps in the healthy functioning of these organs. Sleeping on the left side also puts less pressure on the inferior vena cava, which is mainly responsible for supplying blood to your baby.
While you are trying to sleep on one side, things might start being a bit uncomfortable after a couple of days. This is because your body is tuned to sleeping in various ways. You might also start to experience pain and discomfort in your back and hip region. However, you must not give in and continue sleeping on the left side only. It shall be highly beneficial in your later stages of pregnancy.

Minor discomfort can easily be corrected with the help of various cushions and pillows that one can easily find at home. How you arrange your pillows depends on the problems that you have been facing.
This is mainly caused by the acidic content of the stomach coming back to the food pipe or in simpler terms, travels upwards. Logically, all we need to do is ensure that it has no way of travelling back up there. Putting cushions below your chest region will help in elevating your stomach which will help you achieve your goal.
Most pregnant ladies complain of pain in the lower back region. This can be corrected by slightly elevating the hip portion on such days. This elevation will help in relaxing the muscles, further reducing the pain.
As the belly begins to grow, it might start feeling heavier. It is important in this case to bring it to level with the rest of your body. You can do so by placing a thin pillow beneath your tummy.
The legs get weak and tired after carrying the extra weight. Hence, it is necessary to give them the time to heal and relax while you are asleep. Putting a pillow between your legs will help you do that.
